| Transformation of Energy Systems in European and Global Context: Perspectives from Germany and Czechia |
The Humboldt Club Czech Republic together with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany cordially invite you to a lecture and panel discussion on Transformation of Energy Systems in European and Global Context: Perspectives from Germany and Czechia The event will take place on Thursday, 19 November 2026 from 6:30 p.m. at the German Embassy Prague (Vlašská 19, Prague 1). Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Participation is only possible after prior registration by email to wi@prag.diplo.de. The deadline for registration is 12 November 2026. PROGRAM Energy-related emissions account for more than three-quarters of total global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Transforming energy systems is therefore key to reducing GHG emissions and mitigating climate change. The keynote lecture and the subsequent panel discussion will focus on strategies for decarbonizing the energy sector in Germany and Czechia in broader European and global context. The program is part of the Czech-German Climate Dialogue. 6:30 p.m. Welcome by H.E. Dr. Peter Reuss, Ambassador of the Federal Republic Germany to the Czech Republic 6:35–7:00 p.m. Keynote Lecture by Dr. Stefan Thomas: The Current State and Strategies of Energiewende in Germany Dr. Stefan Thomas is a physicist and political scientist. Since 2003, he has been Director of the Research Division „Energy, Transport and Climate Policy” at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy. Main fields of his scientific work are analysis, development and testing of policy instruments to promote energy efficiency, from the local to the global level; ex-post impact and process evaluation of energy efficiency policies and measures; and new energy efficiency business concepts for energy supply companies. 7:00–7:45 p.m. Panel discussion with Dr. Michaela Valentová (Researcher at Czech Technical University in Prague) and Petr Jonáš (Head of Energy Market Modeling at ČEZ). 7:45–8:00 p.m. Q&A 8:00–9:00 p.m. Networking and Refreshments |
Výlet klubu do Teplic | Recepce ke státnímu svátku SRN |
V neděli 15. června 2025 uspořádal náš Humboldt klub společně s Alumniklubem ČR a Deutschen-Humboldt-Netzwerk výlet do Teplic. Kromě prohlídky historického centra jsme v krásném lázeňském městě navštívili místa spojená s Alexandrem von Humboldtem a dalšími významnými osobnostmi, kromě jiného i hrob německého spisovatele Johanna Gottfrieda Seumeho. Při prohlídce nás doprovázeli zástupci Seumovy společnosti, kteří nám objasnili činnost a historii své organizace.

"Výroční členská schůze klubu se konala 28.4.2025 v budově MFF UK na Malostranském náměstí". Hlavní referát přednesl kolega Hrdina na téma "Původ homochirality na Zemi. Dále bylo zvoleno nové předsednictvo klubu, projednány zprávy o činnosti a hospodaření a plán činnosti na další období. . | Asociace pro paměťová studia (Memory Studies Association, MSA) uspořádala 14.–18. července 2025 v Praze svou 9. výroční konferenci. Událost spojila více než 1200 vědců a vědkyň, umělců a aktivistů z celého světa, kteří společně zkoumali téma "Za hranice krizí: Odolnost a (Ne)stabilita" – Beyond Crises: Resilience and (In)stability. V rámci akce se uskutečnilo setkání nositelů stipendií nadace Alexandra von Humboldta. |
